If you have always looked for a vacation destination where you can also take beautiful photographs, consider the coast of Oregon, as it is an ideal location to visit regardless of the weather. Oregon features verdant hillsides, beaches, appealing coastal towns and amazing rock formations.
If you’re looking into taking a certain route to arrive in Oregon, consider Highway 101, as it will offer you a great view of the area, prior to getting there. Taking this route is not only scenic; it will also allow you to find yourself in beaches or coastal towns in no time at all.
Among the biggest rivers in the United States is the Columbia River, and at its opening is Astoria. The first coastal towns you will come upon in the north coast are Cannon Beach and Seaside, and it will be impossible for you to not take notice of Haystack Rock, which is a steep rock formation that you will find in Cannon Beach. As you make your way further into town, you will come upon Tillamook, home of the world-renowned Tillamook cheese.
Stunning views are offered by the central coast, while leisure interests are served by the Oregon Dunes. The most fun way to drive to these areas is to drive a dune buggy or an ATV, and yet others feel that it is even more fun to ski sharp slopes to get there. It depends on what you like doing, but this region has something for those that want to go to the beach, or fish, or go trail hiking as well.
Publicized as the biggest in the world, near Florence is a sea cave that hosts sea lions in the hundreds, and this is ideal for those looking into seeing some animal attractions. From Lion Sea Caves, you will be able to observe the beauty of a waterfall, fertile hillsides that make their way to the ocean, and Heceda Head Lighthouse.
In the central coast is Coos Bay, which is the biggest coastal city in Oregon, an inlet that is kept safe and secure.
Bandon, a wonderful city south of Coos Bay features the most amazing golf courses in the country. American link style golf is put on view by both Pacific Dunes and Bandon Dunes.
If you are looking into setting sights on some astounding rock formations, check out the coastal city of Port Orford. The opening of Rogue River marks the doorway to Gold Beach and Brookings, where you will find plenty of picturesque rock formations.
